Horned Owl and Owlettes???
So I’ve been trekking thru the woods for 4 weeks watching this nest..first week not a sole in sight, but I just had to keep going back to it.. 2nd week the mother made an appearance, I was figuring it was probably a hawks nest, given the size / location.. I was in for a nice surprise as it was a Horned Owl staring down at me! First time I’ve seen one in the wild..so I was pretty stoked…3rd week I see 2 lillte heads poppping out of the nest, moms nowhere in site, just 2 little fuzzy heads with ginormous eyes. So now we’re at week 4 and I think it’s the first time they have ventured out of the nest… They still have the fuzzy feathers so I’m hoping to keep watching them for another 2 weeks before they get their flight feathers, then they will probably disappear and get on with their lives..Enjoy
